HJCI SPRING 2022 UPDATE
Japanese Language Class is Currently Online! visit HollywoodJLS.com
Dear Members and Friends,
The past couple of years have been a trying and challenging time. Thanks to the development and continual evolment of vaccines, testing, and safety protocol, we are gradually and cautiously venturing out, meeting up, getting back to a pre-pandemic way of life. In October 2021, HJCI had its first fundraising events - a Takeout only Pancake Breakfast and a Raffle. In addition, many of you had generously made monetary donations that helped to meet our operational expenses. Currently, Judo, LA Daiku (choral group), Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu, and karate have resumed in person classes. Our long time time Yoga instructor, Takako Sato, retired after over 20 years of dedicated instruction so there is no Yoga class at the present time. Please feel free to reach out and contact any of our groups that you may have an interest in and check out the Spring and Fall newsletters for further info.
In October, the HJCI will be celebrating its 75th Year Anniversary and I hope to see you then. A fundraising drive is planned in order to carry out some needed maintenance projects. More info to follow.
Please continue to take care of your health and safety and taking appropriate health measures as needed.
Please feel free to share any questions, concerns, inspirations in the Contact section.
Hope to see you all soon,
Asao Masumiya, HJCI President
